Parker, Jr. Issue Date 26th Jun 2014 Source 213, The Wine Advocate Absolutely extraordinary with a blockbuster bouquet of black and blue fruits, smoked meats, camphor, acacia flowers, charcoal and licorice, this unctuously textured, viscous, dense monster is one of the most compelling fortified wines I have ever tasted. It could easily be mistaken for a hypothetical blend of Fonseca, Graham’s and Taylor vintage port – just richer. The incredible balance and flawless integration of Jayson Woodbridge’s high-quality single vineyard brandy make for an awesome, once-in-a-lifetime fortified wine. Its black color is accompanied by tremendous flavors of blackberry liqueur, roasted espresso, chocolate, scorched earth, camphor and flowers. Some peppery meatiness also makes an appearance in this full-bodied, thick, stunningly concentrated and pure fortified wine. Drink: now-2060.
